About the Labmin LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
Labmin LIMS (Labmin Laboratory Information Management System) simplifies the process of loading information of samples to create a work-order. Planning for analysis can happen at any time in order to prioritize client needs.

What is LIMS?
A Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is a system that is built to support modern Laboratory operations. It provides the Laboratory with key features that enhances workflow, and allows the laboratory to store and access information on the system.
How Labmin LIMS Assists You
Labmin is designed to help you manage all aspects of testing in any Lab, from Sample submission, Test assignment, Media, Reagents and consumable tracking through to result capture, calculation and certificate generation. It also tracks samples progress, manages client communication and feedback as well as ensures Method Validation and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) are followed.
Labmin allows you to take control of your lab, setting up personnel access rights per module and TS (Technical Signatory) method accreditation controls.
Key Features of Labmin LIMS
- Sample Tracking
- Barcode Scanning
- Equipment and data integration
- Method SOP process management
- Inventory, Equipment, Agent and Consumable management
- Scheduling and Alert notifications
- Certificate and Report generation
- Easy client management and portal
- Invoicing, Quoting and Financial integration
- Document Control and audit trails
- BI – Business intelligence and dashboards/reporting
- Electronic Signatures
- Batching and grouping
- Go Paperless

Benefits of our LIMS
Labmin can benefit any Laboratory by ensuring the following:
- Capture accurate data.
- Followed efficient process flows, and data is carried to all areas needed.
- Reporting and management of turn around times, alerts and notifications, ensuring you stay on track.
Labmin keeps a full audit trail of activities making traceability and record keeping more efficient and automated.
What is the Labmin LIMS System?
A Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is a system that is built to support modern Laboratory operations. It provides the Laboratory with key features that enhances workflow, and allows the laboratory to store and access information on the system.
The Labmin Laboratory Information Management System checks the results from data captured, and automatically validates instances that comply with the needed specifications; it also reports (but does not validate) results that are out-of-specification. It can also release or retain lots and batches according to a laboratory’s specifications and calculations.
Supervisors can also schedule tasks, as well as request specific tests. These test requirements define the workload for the various lab stations. Instrumentation based data is loaded, processed through the calculation engine, and is then subjected to the Quality Control steps required for the assessment (based on certain standards, duplicates and blanks) to determine the validity of the results.
What makes Labmin LIMS different
- Cloud Solution so you can access LIMS from anywhere.
- Integration with Third Party software and equipment compatible.
- Automatic backup policies and data replication available.
- Custom. development flows and management unique per lab.
- Online wiki (Help manual) and downloadable IQ/OQ for easy LIMS Validation.
- Branded and custom client portal for Lab -> Customer engagement.
- Dedicated development team growing the platform daily.
- Mobile Application for easy test results.

Validation is establishing documented evidence that a system does what it purports to do; validation protocol, a prospective experimental plan that, when executed, is intended to produce documented evidence that the system has been validated. The keyword in both these definitions is “documented”.
Information And Process Flow Management
In the context of mining laboratory information, Labmin assists the Laboratory and Production departments to manage samples through their analysis lifecycles. Laboratory users follow standardized processes based on sample preparation practices and standards. The use of certain instruments and other laboratory functions such as plate management and workflow automation allows the entering of samples directly into the Labmin Laboratory Information Management System, as well as tracking their progress through the different laboratory processes.
‘Sample tracking’ includes integrated barcoding, sample login, quoting, and invoicing. Labmin also allows real-time access to analytical results from virtually anywhere in the world. Users can view rich reports, which include features such as flagging parameters where results exceed defined limits, thereby easing the review of data. Furthermore, it enables users to graph results and create control charts for any entered data. Selecting data to plot is simplified by using criteria such as test, sample number, analyst, etc. It is also easy to select the samples used to generate the control limits.
An organization can configure its analytical parameters and calculations into Labmin LIMS. After sample registration, the module prints barcodes that are scanned to access and capture data during the analysis and reporting phases.
Security and Backups
SSL Certificate
The LIMS system is designed to run off a cloud based public server. The URL runs off HTTPS and is encrypted with a SSL cert.
Server Security
Our servers are important to us, so we ensure the latest software and trackability is in place. We utilize SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) software for early detections and traceability.
Our LIMS follows GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) by ensuring data is encrypted at rest on both disk (At rest) and database. We also allow for custom encryption policies on Personal information fields such as ID, passport etc. to ensure POPI (Protection of Personal Information) compliance.
Backup
In order to ensure all these elements are backed up and can be restored the following backup procedure is implemented- System files, document and database are backed up for a rolling 5 days.
- Once a year the full system is backed up and set as accessible for a rollback/archive
- Should a restore be needed due to data loss or system rollback, we required 24 hours to extract your backup and restore it.
Database Audit
The system also keeps an audit trail of each SQL line run on the database that affects its data. i.e. ‘INSERT’,’UPDATE’,’DELETE’. Each audit contains date/time stamp and session details of the user logged in.
